Updating 4J's long-range facilities plan

Old school building imageNew school building imageIn Eugene School District 4J, we’re planning for the future. Our school buildings are aging. It's time to update the plan that guides us in replacing and renovating outdated school buildings. This long-range facilities plan aims to position 4J for the future and revitalize our school buildings as great places for Eugene’s children to learn.

We began by having a independent consultant evaluate the condition of our school buildings, determine which buildings are in the worst condition, and provide some starter recommendations about where to begin. This provided a starting point for a community conversation with parents, students, staff and community members.

After a thorough and thoughtful process and significant public input, the school board made decisions in February 2013 about how to update the long-range facilities plan.
